Hotel Kastoria is at Leontos Sofou 17, between Egnatia Street and Dimokratias Square, in the commercial heart of Thessaloniki. Around it are shops and restaurants for every budget, while Ladadika is 650 metres away and Eleftherias Square less than ten minutes on foot.
Λέοντος Σοφού 17, 54626 Θεσσαλονίκη, Ελλάδα
From Makedonia Airport, 12 kilometres away, a taxi takes about 17 minutes without traffic. The OASTH express bus 01X runs through the centre to the KTEL Makedonia coach station, and at night the 01N takes over; both lines need a special ticket. Since late August 2026 there has also been a bus link to Mikra metro station, from where the metro takes you to Venizelou.
Venizelou and Dimokratias metro stations are 350 metres from the hotel. The metro runs from early morning until after midnight, and until 02:00 on Fridays and Saturdays; bus and metro tickets are separate. From the railway station, 950 metres away, it is about a 14-minute walk or two metro stops. If you are driving, note that the hotel has no parking: the centre has regulated, charged on-street parking.

The markets make the obvious first stroll: Kolombou Market 100 metres away, the restored Modiano with its fishmongers, butchers and tavernas, and the lanes of Kapani. At 300 metres, on the corner of Egnatia and Venizelou, the Hamza Bey Mosque reopened in October 2026 as an exhibition space, close to the Pasha Hamam and the recently restored Bey Hamam.
The Ancient Agora and Aristotelous Square are 700 metres away, the Rotunda and the Arch of Galerius 1.4 kilometres and the White Tower and the seafront 1.6. Spring and autumn are the best seasons: the Film Festival takes place in November, and 26 October is the feast of Saint Demetrius, the city's patron saint. Late at night, the usual care is advisable around Vardaris.
